Mondays–V5E31f–Vacay Day 6, Aug. 5–Crescent City

Vacay day 6 Monday, August 5, 2024 4,827 steps

We couldn’t get a reservation to go to Fern Valley so we decided that would drive about 80 miles north to the small town of Crescent City to see the sea lions. The drive up was very foggy in part but I still managed to get some very nice photos.

Along the way, we passed by Elk Valley where the wild elk roam near the roads and pastures.

Once we got to Crescent City, we didn’t get to see any sea lions so we decided to visit the Battery Point Lighthouse. Unfortunately, it was closed either because the sidewalk was washed out or maybe just because the tide was in and we couldn’t cross the rocks to walk up to the Lighthouse. The highlight of the day ended up feeding the California Ground Squirrels who came up and ate out of our hands.

We ate lunch in a nice brewery/restaurant in  Crescent  City and then back to Arcata. Since tomorrow is going to be a really long day, we decided not to do anything but chill in the cabin .
