I think last week was the first time in a long time that I missed my weekly post. It wasn’t because I was on a fun vacation or anything; I finally started my long-awaited project of putting down new tile in my kitchen, dining room, hallways and bathroom. It’s close to 500 square feet of tile.

I deliberated a long time on what type of flooring I wanted and I ultimately decided to use the same peel-and-stick tiles I used in the basement. I walk downstairs and just love what I see. After looking at the circa 1970s knotty pine paneling for thirty years, the tile with the white painted walls just made me smile. I had bought enough tile to finish the basement bedroom, so with that tile and ten more boxes, I had enough for my project.  But this is why there was no post last week–I started my project.

I figure I have about another week before it is completely done (the bathroom, ugh, have to remove the toilet) and then I can move on to my next projects.
