Mondays–V6E26–Happy Fourth of July

The Great Hunter has apparently come down with either food poisoning or a virulent stomach bug. He’s been in bed all day. Fortunately for me, I had a chance to celebrate the Fourth a couple days early. I have my fingers crossed that with Pepto, Gatorade and crackers, he will feel better tomorrow.

The Great Hunter has never been one for Fourth of July celebrations. The older he gets, the more unlikely it is that he would want to go. So if I want to celebrate, I have to find other people to celebrate with. Luckily, my son’s wife and daughter are usually up for anything. The celebration we attended was sponsored by a local retirement community and offered free food, entertainment, games,

and fireworks, along with shuttle rides from parking lots.

My daughter-in-law is a full-time caregiver for her mother who has dementia (except for daycare during the week so she can work), so we chose to put our chairs close to the shuttle drop-off.

Now I’m just sitting here waiting for WWIII to start outside. Some years is better than others. This year is not one of those years.

Yes, I’ve chipped my front tooth again. Sigh.

Happy 249th Birthday America!
