Mondays–V6E44–Gulf shores 5 Wednesday Oct. 22

All is calm, all is bright, but I’m not talking a Christmas carol here, I’m talking about the Gulf. The sky is clear blue and water is almost glassy and the waves are just undulating. It was a pleasure to be floating out there today on my granddaughter’s little boogie Board compared to the beating I got on Sunday.

Our Gulf Shores vacation is coming to an end. It has been a wonderful time spent with my son, daughter in law and granddaughter, a time that I can never replace. I know the Great Hunter misses me. He’s called twice on a video call and I didn’t even know he knew how to do that. Mostly, he wanted to see Millie and Dolly’s reaction when I called their names. They got all excited and swarmed around wagging their tails, trying to figure out where “mommy” was.

We’re heading out very early in the morning. I’m not looking forward to the long drive home, but sitting in the car pretty much beats flying. I may be crammed into my seat in the back but I don’t have to wait in line to get in or have to crawl over anyone to get out. I have my Kindle and my magazines and my crocheting and my water bottle and my bag of popcorn, so I should be set for at least a couple hundred miles.
