Mondays–V6E52–The Last One of 2025

I don’t know what day of the week it is. We already had a Sunday this week, then we had another one in the middle of the week, and then yesterday was Saturday (don’t ask me why) and today was Friday again. I had to continually remind myself that it was, in fact, Saturday. The Great Hunter left this morning for another hunting trip with his son (which is probably why I thought it was Friday since he usually leaves on Friday). It is his third trip this hunting season and so far, no Bambis. If our freezer depended on deer meat, we would be having a very sparse winter. Luckily, it doesn’t.

I gave up today and took down my Christmas tree. Momma Kitty had pretty well destroyed the bottom of the tree including breaking one of the branches. Ever since I put it up, I’ve found ornaments all over the house including these five I found behind the couch (and one under it).

She stands up on her hind legs and grabs at the ornaments until she knocks them to the floor, then proceeds to bat them around and chase them.

Baby Kitty doesn’t seem to bother the ornaments; she just wants to chew on the plastic leaves. I don’t know what it is with her; she likes to eat plastic. I have to be very careful and not leave any lying around that she might want to snack on. So between the two of them, and Christmas being technically over, the tree came down.

The week started with my annual Choir Christmas service at church and then a party in the afternoon. Christmas Eve we went to church with my oldest son and his family to Waypoint Baptist Church (and it isn’t your grandma’s Baptist church, although it actually was his grandma’s Baptist church). It was a very nice service ending with a candlelight Silent Night.

And Christmas Day. Wow. Almost 70°, warm enough to sit outside. My daughter hosted our family Christmas this year, the first in her new home. She’s worked so hard remodeling her 1959 ranch-style home and her hard work really shows. Next year, we’ll probably be back at my house.

So this will be my last post of 2025. I originally started this blog in 2019 to record the Great Hunter and my Monday excursions but those have pretty well gone by the wayside. But I’ve still found it really nice to record what’s going on in my life and I hope you enjoy reading it and maybe at times, I can bring a smile to your face.

So from our house to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
