Mondays–V7E6–Third Week of February

Whoever thought you could sit outside at night in relative comfort in the middle of February? This last week has been pretty awesome, almost 70 degrees yesterday. I got another part of the gumballs in the front yard raked. It’s a several-day process. Gone are the days I could do it all at once. About an hour of raking and bagging and I’m done.

After beautiful yardwork weather, the weather tanked and dropped the temps by 30 degrees and windy, so it was back to heavy coats, and at least for me, gloves. And snow flurries this morning. Mother Nature is always keeping us on our toes. But we’re slowly creeping out of the worst months of the year.

The Great Hunter is still plugging along three mornings a week at his job delivering auto parts but each day he comes home and doesn’t know if he wants to go back. Unfortunately, this part-time job pays so little that, after working there for 18 years, he is now making minimum wage. Granted, minimum wage is $15/hr now, but he started not much more than minimum wage all those years ago. Corporate structure at his store has changed, always wanting more work out of less people. He’s planning on finally retiring before his 81st! birthday in May.

So that’s about it for this last week, nothing much worth talking about, so, I’ll just share some family photos. Oh yes, Millie turned five years old so both girls got birthday bones.
