Mondays–V2E43–Renaissance Festival Redux

One of the things I enjoy most is spending time with my children and grandchildren. I was only twenty years old when I had my first child in 1974 and thirty-seven in 1991 when I had my last child. The last one didn’t fully leave the nest until he was twenty-five because he had a job with required him to travel and he was only home every couple of weeks. So, I’ve had my kids around me for thirty-plus years, and  I have to admit, I wouldn’t trade those years for anything.
To remind me that my children are never that far from home though, one of my sons sent me this…

On Sunday, I got to spend the morning with my daughter-in-law and my youngest five-year-old grandson at the Renaissance Festival. It’s the same festiva I went to last month, but boy, oh boy, was it crowded this month. It was a beautiful, warm day and it seemed everyone was out taking advantage of it. One of the things my grandson most wanted to do was watch the jousting which was as much fun this time as it was last month.

Of course, the jousting would have been for naught had the King and Queen of the Faire not been in attendance.

We ended the morning at the petting zoo…

and with a nutritious sweet treat of fried Oreos and funnel cake.

Next week, I won’t be posting…I’ll be in the sunny state of Florida with another of my daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Stay tuned for Sea World, the beach and whatever else we may do!
